CC Creams! Perfect for a barely there coverage - a very natural look

We’ve had BB Creams, which technically stand for either Blemish Balm (originated in Korea) or Beauty Balm. What is a CC Cream and why do we want one?

CC Creams are great for women who are not confident with foundation but want a little coverage, or for women who occasionally want a “barely there” coverage. Think weekends, sport, shopping.

The two Cs stands for Complexion Corrector or Colour Corrector which describes this product’s ability to target specific skin issues like covering and treating sallow skin and other skin discolourations like redness and age spots. Most variations of CC Creams are buildable, which means you can apply a little, then add more over the top until you achieve the desired coverage. They contain light reflecting properties to help minimise and neutralise redness in the skin, and they also provide light, foundation-like coverage.  Many also include SPF’s, skin-brightening properties and skin-plumping peptides in their formulation, as well as antioxidants to treat deeper wrinkles and soften fine lines.

Here are a few of my favourites:

One simple step for glowing skin. Lightweight formula instantly colour corrects a range of complexion concerns - redness, dullness, sallowness - so all you see is a healthy-looking glow. Oil-free hydration and sunscreen mean a more flawless look tomorrow, too.  Each of the 4 versatile shades is appropriate for a range of skin tones and undertones.

Natio Tinted Moisturiser SPF 50

Perfect for: Sun sensitive skins

Perfect because: High protection of Broad Spectrum SPF50, 3 shades

UVA / UVB Broad Spectrum

Jojoba, Vit E, Chamomile. All calming

The cream contains among others Grapeseed, jojoba, evening primrose, chamomile and aloe help to keep skin soft and supple, and work to protect it from free radical damage, supporting cell repair and moisture levels, so it is a true multi-tasking product with skincare meeting foundation, as this is all you need – and as it also contains broad spectrum SPF 50, it even has your sun protection needs covered too.

The cream is very light – surprisingly considering the high SPF – and is so easy to blend onto the skin, absorbing quickly, and without any stickiness. Often high SPF products make my skin look shiny and feel greasy almost as if it cannot breathe, but this cream feels lovely on my combination skin, and wears very well through the day too!

Max Factor CC Cream

Perfect for: Tricky skin colours

Perfect because: It’s available in 6 shades

This is a clever little ‘does it all’ formula that combines the benefits of flawless coverage with added skincare ingredients that moisturise and smooth the look of your skin.

  • Lightweight formula gives natural coverage and a flawless finish.
  • This intense multi-tasker corrects colour imperfections.
  • The formula, with glycerine, hydrates skin leaving it feeling moisturised.
  • Combined skincare ingredients work together to brighten complexion and give smoother-looking skin.
